REPORT: 86% of Twitter News Curators and Fact Checkers Are Confirmed Left-Wing
These are the people controlling the internet's truth.
What does a Twitter Content Curator do?
Here is a direct description from Andra Cernavskis, a News Curator at Twitter since May 2020:
Detect, evaluate, and debunk misinformation on the platform as well as monitor and contextualize breaking news events alongside a global team of journalists for our 300m users. This includes:
Collaborating with external partners to provide fact-checking resources for users
Working cross functionally to both execute and advise on products aimed at reducing and correcting misinformation on the platform
Driving strategies for ‘prebunking’ harmful misinformation narratives around major global elections, breaking news events, and more
In other words, Twitter Curators control which news is real and which news to promote, meaning they essentially control which discussions take place on the platform.
Since major elections and political news stories are included in their topics to curate it would be ethically responsible to ensure that the team curating such topics is unbiased.
Unfortunately, data in this report shows that the team has a very significant Left-wing, Democrat bias.
The Employee Data Sample
In order to correctly investigate the political party affiliation of each Curator at Twitter we first had to collect a list of all employees that are publicly listed under that role.
The most accurate way to do that was to search for all curators listed on the Twitter LinkedIn Employees page.
From our searches we were able to gather a total of 34 employees listed under the role of Curator. Every name that was listed under that title was added, none were omitted.
Since this information is publicly accessible and free to all, it is entirely legal to gather, report, and share data that has been collected from this information.
Personal Identity Pronouns
Out of the 34 employees included in this data set, 15 of them have personal identity pronouns such as (SHE/HER), (HE/HIM), or (THEY/THEM) publicly listed in either their LinkedIn or Twitter account profiles.
That comes out to a total of 44% of all Curators.
This immediately shows us a large Left-wing, Democrat party bias as Democrats are much more likely to use personal identity pronouns for themselves than Republicans, and that has been proven in an August poll.
Also, in 2018 Democratic National Committee members adopted language to their charter and rules to include gender self-identification and gender nonbinary members. The Republican Party did not adopt such language.
The following Twitter Curators were found to have pronouns listed in their bios:
Victoria Q, Lara N, Julianne C, Marina L, Kane S
Taylor J, Sunny R, Innonoshe A, Andre G, Siobhan K(1),
Mallory H, Siobhan K(2), Andra C, Oscar C, Jessica M
Trump Haters
Along with Joanna Geary, the Senior Director of Curation (above), we were also able to find old posts and evidence of many other Curators that made their dislike for Ex-President Donald Trump very clear.
The following 2 screenshots below are not from Curators, but in fact from the Ex-Global Director of Culture and Community God-is Rivera.
One of the Curators, Anna Hopkins, even has a section in her Hinge dating profile that tells men not to like her or send her a message if they are a Republican.
LGBT, BLM Promoters & Supporters
A 2020 Williams Institute report said that nearly 9 million LGBT adults are registered and eligible to vote in the 2020 general election and half of registered LGBT voters (50%) are Democrats, 15% are Republicans, 22% are Independents, and 13% identify with another party or did not know with which party they most identified. - Williams Institute
Additional Evidence
The following employees were added to the list of verified left-wing employees for the following reasons:
Brenda Diaz Alba: Anti-Trump content on Twitter
Laura Savvas: Gay flag in Twitter profile banner photo + retweets promoting the kneeling of Premier League soccer players before matches
Rawan Abuasad: Pro-BLM, Anti-Trump content on Twitter
Kat Balleh: Pro-BLM content on Twitter
Alexis Fernandez: Pro-BLM content on Twitter
Eldrin Deas: Attended events held by Congressman John Lewis of the Democratic Party
The 86%
So how did we ultimately arrive at the exact number of 86% from this article?
All employees with personal identity pronouns were counted as Left-wing - 15 total (44%)
All employees featured in screenshots in the “Trump Haters” and “LGBT/BLM Supporters” sections were added (Except for God-is Rivera) - 8 total (24%)
Employees listed under the “Additional Evidence” section - 6 total (18%)
This number may potentially be higher than 86%, but verifiable information on a few of the employees located outside of the United States could not be found.
The following Twitter Curators could not be properly verified as having one specific political party and thus were not added to the list of left-wing employees:
Madoka Isojima
Chow Wing Yin
'Mayowa Tijani
Marwa Galal Hassan
Andrés Arnau Martínez
Obvious Bias
These Curators have the power to decide which news is relevant, which news should be shared, and which news is true.
‘Misinformation’ can be, and often is simply a story these Curators don’t agree with.
